Overall Position Summary and Objectives
Deliverables:
- Monitor budget dashboard to see what has been spent by program (SBIR and STTR) and how much is remaining for each program. - Weekly
- Each round, create spreadsheet to track Just in Time documents from applicants. - Ad-Hoc
- Send emails to scored applicants each round requesting Just in Time documents. - Ad-Hoc
- Track Fast track award and monitor for conversion (transition from Phase I to Phase II). - Weekly
- Identify and generate list of grantees with supplement support. - Bi-Weekly
- Work with DIMA to evaluate and report on applications, scores, success and funding rates, and other pertinent analyses to better understand the Small Business Program. - Ad-Hoc
- Assist with the Paylist meeting preparation, including scheduling meetings for all three council rounds, sending invites to relevant Program Officers and GAB coordinators, and Small Business Strategy Coordinator, sending application spreadsheet to Program Officers, updating spreadsheet according to paylist outcome, sending funding recommendations to GAB Coordinators 1
- Monitor portfolio to identify awards without supported supplements and provide a list to the Small Business Strategy Coordinator. 2
- Monitoring Fast Track awards and identifying those poised for transition. 3
- Work with Program Directors to ensure that tasks relevant to the scientific administration of assigned grants are performed accurately and in a timely fashion. 4
- Monitor the Small Business budget dashboard to ensure that the budget minimums are on track to being met. 5
- Researches and evaluates the operation of the organization's scientific programs.
- Assist with strategic plan activities.
- Researches, interprets and summarizes background materials from a variety of scientific sources.
- In collaboration with the Division of Data Integration, Modeling and Analytics (DIMA), evaluate the Small Business program supported by NIGMS by tracking applications, success rates, grant recipient activities and spending to inform future funding and policy decisions.
- Compiles data and creates and prepares graphs, slides and presentations.
- Monitor the NIGMS Small Business website to update any language as needed, identify grantee achievements to highlight, update any policies hosted on website.
- Performs logistical planning of various scientific meetings, lectures, workshops.
- Plans, organizes and participates at a senior level in technical meetings and consultations.
- Assist with the Foreign Risk Assessment Policy management, including, requesting and tracking Just-in-Time materials from applicants, identifying secondary applications for potential funding and coordinating with primary Institute or Center to track risk assessment outcomes, monitoring Fast Track awards to initiate Foreign Risk assessment, tracking applications that have negative risk determination.
