Thrive Support and Advocacy, a local DDS funded non-profit, is hiring in Worcester and Middlesex counties for Skills trainers as part of the DESE/DDS Residential Prevention Contract. This program supports children and their families in reaching their goals.
This position is part time, three to twelve hours a week depending on the needs of the family. Hours would be afternoon/evening and or weekends at the student’s home and community. Compensation is generally $25/hour, but in some cases may be more based on family's preference.
Applicants must have at least two years experience or education related to working with individuals with special needs or intellectual/developmental disabilities. If you do not have experience, please view Thrive's other job postings for newer employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching the student skills to increase independence and safety.
- Increasing the student’s social skills and presence in the community.
- Collecting data on goals and reporting to the Family Navigator.
- Supporting caregivers to learn and practice skills at home.

- Knowledge of and prior experience with individuals with Developmental Disabilities required
License/Certification:

Work Location: Multiple locations are needed. Families may live in and around Worcester and Marlborough. Skills Trainers are not required to cover all of these areas.
