Position Responsibilities: Perform a variety of carpentry tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
POSITION DUTIES:
· Build wooded structures, such as stairs, concrete forms, scaffolds, etc.
· Prepare the layout of forms or fixtures to be fabricated using lines or grades.
· Measure boards, timbers, or plywood using a square, measuring tape, and ruler and mark cutting lines on materials using a pencil and scriber. Shape materials to the required sizes using the correct tools.
· Verify the accuracy of structure with transit, plumb bob, square, and level.
· Use carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches, hand and power saws, drill motors, and pry bars.
· Brace forms in place w/ timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts for use in building concrete piers, footings, and walls.
· Erect framework for structures and lay sub-flooring.
· Cut and assemble timbers to build trestles and cofferdams.
· Erect scaffolding for buildings and other structures and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, & gangways.
· Construct forms and chutes, and aligns form panels for pouring concrete and grout.
· Fit & install pre-fabricated window frames, doors, weather stripping interior & exterior trim & finished hardware.
· Fit and nail sheathing on outer walls and roofs of buildings. Sets and braces anchor bolts.
· Use hand tools to excavate, grade, and backfill areas of new concrete placement.
· Assist in rigging and lifting of materials including tag lines.
· Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities with tools and equipment.
· Operate electric and pneumatic tools.
· Assists with loading concrete mixers.
· May clean out ditches and remove concrete forms. Perform manual labor.
· May assist in the erection and removal of formwork.
· May be required to carry and clean various materials as directed.
· May be required to shovel or rake materials.
· Responsible for observing & complying with all safety and project rules.
· Responsible for maintaining a clean job site and work environment.
· Performs other duties as required.

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders, and negotiation of work areas under construction. (Climbing/standing – 6-8 hours/day, twisting (180°), kneeling, lifting, reaching above shoulders, bending at 90° angles – 4-6 hours/day, squatting/sitting 1-2 hours/day.) Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; highly precarious places; outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
Requirements
· Pass drug/chemical screening.
· At least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the US.
· Must have a valid driver’s license.
· Demonstrate willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
· Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
· Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
· Must be dependable with reliable transportation.
· Familiarity with construction means and methods.
· Respond well to time constraints and generally work at a brisk pace.
· Must provide own hand tools (excluding power tools)
· Willingness to travel up to 250 miles.
· Follow oral and written directions
· Work at heights without fear.
· Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
· Ability to read a tape measure, and apply construction mathematical skills.
· Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
