Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Site Supervisor works in a fast paced position and is at the hub of activity for our distribution and logistics business. In this capacity, the Site Supervisor has oversite of delivery drivers, customer interactions, the monitoring of customer inventories, receipt of inventory, inventory variance, and handling administrative paperwork and computer entry duties. The main objective is to ensure and verify that the customer’s needs are met in a safe, prompt and professional manner. In addition, the Supervisor also manages the maintenance of buildings and grounds in and around Evansville to support company standards of clean, safe, and in good repair. This includes the proper tracking of expenses and ordering of non-inventory related products and building supplies for all company owned or controlled properties as well as capital improvement projects as they arise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide excellent service by setting priorities and finding a solution that meets company needs in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Work with all company personnel in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork
  • Coordinate with dispatch team
  • Oversee and run all bi-weekly team meetings
  • Implement Company Policies and Initiatives and handle sensitive employee situations
  • Responsible for mid-year and year-end employee reviews
  • Must be certified in all fields required for handling and distribution of Fuel and Lubricants
  • Must be certified in all fields required for safety and compliance
  • Responsible for monthly inventory counts
  • Partners with inventory team for variance investigation
  • Responsible for Quality Assurance on products during repack, receipt, and delivery
  • Handles Vendor Quality Assurance reviews on site
  • Input orders into back office software where necessary
  • Assist with Rolling Stock and Customer Equipment utilization, tracking, maintenance and replacement
  • Coordinate with manager to handle disputes and mishaps with carriers
  • Assist with the management of janitorial and housekeeping contract
  • Help implement preventive, ongoing, and anticipated maintenance/repair program(s) for buildings and sites
  • Establish and maintains a reliable network of vendors and suppliers
  • Contract with vendors by soliciting quotes, obtaining bids, reviewing contracts and invoices against vendor/contractor performance
  • Communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with employees, suppliers, contractors, and others
  • Maintain inventory of supplies (such as cleaning supplies and toiletries) and reorders for each site
  • Prepare and maintain records as required
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Work extended hours, outside of regular shift schedule, as required by operational needs
  • Ensure accounting has needed documentation and support for purchases
  • Other duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate will possess strong communication skills. Self-motivated, a desire to perform analysis and accept feedback and challenge of assumptions, ownership and follow through to meet agreed upon deadlines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School/GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years equivalent experience is preferred. Working knowledge of delivery/dispatch/inventory management. Working knowledge of business management and development preferred. Intermediate PC skills and working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other common programs used in a business setting.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those of an office. Noise level in the work environmental is normally moderate. Occasional travel may be required.
