General Responsibility:

The Site Safety Coordinator is responsible for overall administration of the safety guidelines on the Project Site and to mentor and grow the knowledge pertaining to safety onsite. They must take an active role in the development of the safety culture by seeking opportunities to improve practices on the project (s).

 Significant Duties:

  • Responsible for leading the jobsite daily safety meetings.
  • Inspect jobsite conditions daily, identify, and discuss potential hazard with the Foreman and crew before the start of production work.
  • Work side by side with General Contractor’s safety team, identifying potential hazards and looking for corrective actions prior to work being performed by the 20/20 team.
  • Ensure compliance that 20/20 employees are following proper PPE.
  • Leads Yellow Book program for assigned projects, monitor employees enrolled under the program by observing safe practices in real time before signing off competency of employee.
  • Maintain record of site inspections, and actions items completed in accordance with company safety procedures.
  • Conduct walk-thru and visually inspect the jobsite to help identify unsafe practices and / or potential hazards and correct/train safety violators.
  • Inspect tools and equipment to verify everything is safe for use.
  • Complete job inspections and upload inspections in Procore, including pictures.
  • Recognize safe work practices with possible rewards.
  • Seek guidance from Assistant General Manager and Director of Safety on proposed changes needed onsite. 
  • Timely communicate site injuries to 20/20 Safety and HR department on any 20/20 related accident.
  • Assist with onsite job-related incidents, responsible for leading incident investigation, including meeting with injured worker(s) and witnesses. ensure that all required incident forms are thoroughly completed and signed.
  • Ability to identify site housekeeping standards and assist Foreman with keeping the jobsite clean, material organized and free potential hazards.
  • Promote 20/20 safety culture by increasing safety awareness and attitude.
  • Believes in and champions 20/20’s core values and inspires others to do the same.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or GED required. 2-3 + years’ experience managing safety efforts in multi-family projects preferred and/or combination of multifamily field/safety experience.  
  • Proficiency with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
  • The ability to present and explain health and safety topics.
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • Required to obtain OSHA 30 hour and CPR-First Aid certification within 90-days of employment.  Employee is required to maintain certification up to date.
  • California Class C Driver License, with good DMV record is required.
  • Ability to work, communicate, and maintain a good working relation with all levels of employees, i.e. management, builder/owners, and 20/20 employees.
  • Bilingual, ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is required. Ability to teach, mentor, lead by example, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to identify areas that require change, communicate change, and implement policies and procedures as it relates to health and safety.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements:

The position of Site Safety Coordinator requires that you can lift objects that weigh up to 50 pounds, climb a ladder, squat and kneel, twist and bend. Exposed to constant work in outdoor and indoor weather conditions. Driving  to jobsites will be necessary, and the ability to walk on uneven unclean terrain for several hours.
