TIELLO has partnered with a highly successful Federal General Contractor in the San Diego, CA area on their search for a Site SafetyHealth Officer (SSHO) to oversee Federal / Military Construction Projects ranging in value up to $50 M.
Job Title: Site SafetyHealth Officer (SSHO) (2+ years of Federal Construction Experience)
Project Types: Federal, DoD, Naval, Military, BEQ, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, Hangar
Key Responsibilities:
- Able to perform all essential Site SafetyHealth Officer (SSHO) job responsibilities
- Create and execute safety policies and procedures to ensure adherence with local, state, and federal regulations
- Develop and maintain a good relationship with all on-site employees
- Work with Superintendent to develop safety plans and to execute safety procedures
- Provide safety training and education to employees on hazard recognition, personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency response, and speaking up
- Investigate incidents, determine the cause, and enforce corrective actions
- Collaborate with Superintendents, Managers, and On-Site teams to promote a positive culture of safety awareness and accountability
- Remain current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices
Skills & Qualification:
- 2+ years overseeing projects for a reputable general contractor(s).
- First Aid/CPR Certified
- OSHA 30
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Travel as needed to various Project Sites
- EM-385-1-1 preferred
- CQCM Certification preferred
- Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related, preferred.
