Site Safety And Health Officer (Ssho)

TIELLO has partnered with a highly successful Federal General Contractor in the San Diego, CA area on their search for a Site SafetyHealth Officer (SSHO) to oversee Federal / Military Construction Projects ranging in value up to $50 M.

Job Title: Site SafetyHealth Officer (SSHO) (2+ years of Federal Construction Experience)

Project Types: Federal, DoD, Naval, Military, BEQ, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, Hangar

Key Responsibilities:

• Able to perform all essential Site SafetyHealth Officer (SSHO) job responsibilities
• Create and execute safety policies and procedures to ensure adherence with local, state, and federal regulations
• Develop and maintain a good relationship with all on-site employees
• Work with Superintendent to develop safety plans and to execute safety procedures
• Provide safety training and education to employees on hazard recognition, personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency response, and speaking up
• Investigate incidents, determine the cause, and enforce corrective actions
• Collaborate with Superintendents, Managers, and On-Site teams to promote a positive culture of safety awareness and accountability
• Remain current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices

Skills & Qualification:

• 2+ years overseeing projects for a reputable general contractor(s).
• First Aid/CPR Certified
• OSHA 30
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Travel as needed to various Project Sites
• EM-385-1-1 preferred
• CQCM Certification preferred
• Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related, preferred.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
