Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), IBM Corporation, Durham, NC (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted): Monitor company's Hyper Protect Services (HPS) Cloud Infrastructure and perform remediation steps if the monitors appear outside the normal range for operations. Respond to alerts from the internal HPS Cloud Infrastructure and follow runbook steps to resolve issues when they occur. Maintain inventory of systems and track access to systems used for the internal HPS Cloud platform service. Respond to support issues opened by clients in a timely manner based on the severity set by the client. Perform periodic updates to the internal HPS Cloud platform software. Develop software to respond to automatically respond to issues when a repeatable solution is found. On-board and train new team members. Update or create new run books which will be used to perform service and problem determination. Use monitoring services, such as VPC dashboard, sysdig, and logDNA to see if the Cloud infrastructure is working within normal parameters. Collect data for all the different data centers where the internal HPS platform runs. Develop software to automate the detection of issues which are not a part of the paging service. Utilize: Unix/Linux, Java, Python, TCP/IP, DevOps, Cloud Automation, Open-Source Technologies, Automated Configuration. Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related and two (2) years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Software Developer, Hardware Developer or related. Two (2) years of experience must include utilizing Unix/Linux, Java, Python, TCP/IP, DevOps, Cloud Automation, Open-Source Technologies, Automated Configuration. Full time. V106.
