Job description

This position is a multi-responsible position to include all types of site support for the following: design and implementation of new systems or processes to increase operation efficiency, propose and maintain all Quality standards for the site, maintain the site's readiness to perform by management of the site maintenance through either internal or contractor support, develop and support Material Flow planning procedures, provide Safety support as a member of the site management team and support site leadership with operations planning activities and problem resolution. This position will directly report to the Director of Operations and will indirectly report to the Site Leader.

  • Manage project tasks and coordinate with key project stakeholders in all areas of the operation - Supply, Efficiency, IT, Quality, Safety, and site readiness.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Quality, Operations, IT, Finance, Contractors, and the account customer.
  • Identify key KPI's to help drive efficiencies and safety.
  • Analyze operational data, layout, material, and work force utilization.
  • Review/define process/system requirements.
  • Develop and support material flow planning procedures. Partner with Operations to implement the processes.
  • Lead implementation activities for new or changing processes and systems.
  • Provide training, resources, and documentation.
  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
  • Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize service reliability, and minimize cost.
  • Primary on site contact for all internal and external audits
  • Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, service capabilities, and project status.
  • Manage all site invoicing and work with finance to maintain good standing with all external vendors and contractors.
  • Develop test methods/procedures to support product validation efforts
  • Create and maintain APQP documentation including control plans, process flows, and PFMEA activities
  • Evaluate causes of scrap and work toward the elimination of such defects
  • Monitor tooling and assembly process equipment ensuring calibration standards and process check points are complete and within operational tolerances.
  • Audit quality systems insuring adherence to Quality Management System procedures. Responsible for maintenance of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certifications
  • Travel to customer or vendor sites for presentations, meetings, etc. to pursue new business opportunities and strategic partners.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may occasionally be required to lift 51 pounds, anything over this, an employee needs to request assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This job is performed in a busy warehouse environment with high forklift traffic. Warehouses are subject to seasonal temperatures. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses and vests are required personal protective equipment (PPE) one or all PPE may be required based upon the site requirements.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full Time, Exempt. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required.

Travel

Travel between locations may be required.

Education and Experience

  • BS in Engineering or related technical field Supply Chain and or Business Management or equivalent in experience, quality, training and/or certifications.
  • 5+ years of work experience in Industrial Engineering and/or Quality and Supply Chain Operations
  • Strong computer skills; MS Office, Outlook, CAD, Visio
  • Strong understanding of MTM's
  • Knowledge of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or equivalent inventory software is a plus
  • APQP Core Tool Knowledge: Control Plans; PFMEA; Process Flow; PPAP; Gage Control & MSA is a plus
  • Basic Knowledge of Statistical Process Control as well as Process Capability and Control
  • ASQ CQE, QMS Internal Auditor and/or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification is a plus
