Position Summary
This posting is open until filled. Single Role Paramedics work a Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm shift with paid Holidays off.

The Department is a state-of-the-art combination department consisting of Firefighter / EMS positions, a strong roster of volunteer firefighter/emergency medical technicians; and a Fire and Life Safety Division. McMinnville Fire staffs five full-service ambulances and one Fire Engine with fully qualified Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians. A busy EMS system provides many opportunities for skills development. Fire services encompass an area of 97 square miles from two stations. The Ambulance Service Area encompasses 450 square miles and includes McMinnville, five smaller cities, and rural areas.
The City of McMinnville is located in the western portion of Oregon's agriculturally rich Willamette Valley on U.S. Highway 99 W. David and Jean Vokac, in their book, "The Great Towns of Oregon," rated McMinnville as the No, 2 city in the state for its high livability. They cited McMinnville's scenic beauty, historic, tree- lined downtown district, the Evergreen Aviation Museum, excellent parks, and the City's cultural viability as major factors in their decision. They described McMinnville as "genteel sophistication with deep Eastern roots." McMinnville's population is nearly 35,000 with an annual growth rate over the past ten years of approximately 3 percent.
Essential Job Functions
Paramedics work under the general supervision of a duty Battalion Chief or Fire Captain. Paramedics may be the lead paramedic at emergency scenes and as such will provide direction to others in the coordination of patient care. Other coordination or supervision of the work of others is not a typical function assigned to this position. Incumbents in this position may provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel.

Valid OREGON State Driver's License: Yes
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Vision: Per NFPA 1582 Requirements
Academy Certification: Possession of EMT-Paramedic; and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications; possession of Oregon Paramedic License
Specific Disqualifiers/Behaviors: Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers:
As per State of Oregon DHS and DPSST regulations
Drug Disqualifiers: Per NFPA 1582 Requirements
