ResponsibilitiesAssists with developing, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining the simulated hospital environment at the highest possible readiness level by performing routine maintenance, repairing, and troubleshooting on high-fidelity simulators, AV equipment, medical simulation capture system, and medical equipment. Assists with inventory maintenance, scheduling system, management software, recorded scenarios, equipment, technical budget and supplies.
Acts as initial responder to help calls to assist in resolving technical problems. Manages the operation of technology systems including but not limited to PC/Apple computers, computers required for simulation, projection/presentation systems, video conferencing equipment, technology-enhanced classrooms/conference rooms, medical simulation capture systems, inventory of computers, hardware and software, and other multimedia technologies.
Implements, enforces, and troubleshoots network security policies, maintains documentation, and troubleshoots problems related to wired and wireless connections. Work closely with other IT teams, such as System Administrators and Network Engineers, to resolve complex network issues. Collaborate on projects that involve network infrastructure changes or upgrades.
Coordinates with faculty and others to plan and provide patient simulator training for diverse populations. Collaborates with administration, faculty, staff, and potential funders to demonstrate the various uses of the simulation center. Provides training and/or demonstration sessions for students, faculty, and staff regarding the utilization of computer equipment and high-fidelity simulators. Masters the operation of simulator technologies by participating in conferences, workshops and/or technical training as necessary.
QualificationsA Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
