Job Summary

The Simulation Operations Manager oversees the administrative and operational execution of Safeguard Medical’s simulation programs for both TRUbodies and SIMBODIES. This position is responsible for developing and executing training requirements, developing business processes that ensure compliance to all relevant polices and standards, overseeing the execution of simulation labs for TRUbodies, as well as the kitting, repair, and maintenance of all simulation equipment through our service programs all in a manner that achieves revenue, budgeted cost and profit targets for our simulation business and creates exceptional customer experiences for Safeguard customers.


This position will also plan, coordinate, and execute continuous improvement activities towards customer satisfaction and product line margins for our Simulation business processes.


This role has supervisory responsibility for all assigned department personnel, including their continued mentorship and development.


Essential Job Functions

Manages the simulation team and aligns resources to meet quarterly and annual objectives.

  • Maintains employee file management for competency assessments, adherence to SOPs, quarterly review, and certifications.
  • Is responsible for maintaining and tracking inventory and its adequate use, for both consumables and tools/equipment used in labs and/or repairs.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of company data, including new product information, marketing strategies, pricing information, sales, and other business proprietary information.
  • Ensures team members conduct themselves according to Safeguard's code of conduct and standard operating procedures.


Specific to TRUbodies

Analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of simulation personnel and contract employees and assigns assets to scheduled lab events.

  • Develops a comprehensive training program and competency assessment system for simulation technicians for TRUbodies.
  • Schedules and coordinates contract personnel for upcoming TRUbodies lab events and tracks their future availability for scheduled lab events.
  • Plans and organizes lab training initiatives. Maintains relationships with DoD Medical Training Centers, Hospital Education Departments (HESD), and Medical Simulation Training Centers (MSTC) and works with training managers within the Federal Government to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Trains and mentors’ TRUBodies personnel including contractors to increase skill level and problem-solving skills with regards to TRUBodies equipment and cadaveric specimens. Successful completion of technician training is a requirement, as well as participation in cadaver labs as required.
  • Leads and conducts detailed AAR for every lab with the team that participated as the means for continuous improvement, enhancing the customer experience and opportunities to scale the program.


Specific for SIMBODIES

Responsible for the Service, Operations, Quality and logistics of the SIMBODIES product line ensuring on time shipments and integrity of the SIMBODIES equipment to the customer.

  • Plans and schedules, communicates, and executes to plan the services to the SIMBODIES equipment within the expected service lead-time.
  • Trains and mentors’ technicians on SIMBODIES repair and maintenance of equipment, as well as participates in Training or demonstrations of the technology to internal or external audiences.
  • Provides Feedback to Sales, Engineering and Marketing regarding the repairs required by customer as means to calibrate improvement to product or feedback to customers on the use of the SIMBODIES line.
  • Develops the proper work instructions and procedures required to ensure high levels of quality and consistency in the production, maintenance, or repair of all products.
  • Work closely with Simbodies management and team in Thirsk, UK to ensure application of best practices and latest techniques / technologies in repair and maintenance of SimBodies mannequins and accessories.


Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or its equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years prior experience leading, planning, and conducting cadaveric or live tissue training required.
  • Military Operations (S3, J3, BN/BDE/DIV) experience OR Medical Background (EMT, Medic, Nurse, Paramedic, or Service Equivalent) preferred .
  • 5+ years of applicable logistics experience and people management/supervision experience required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Advanced computer proficiency to include web browser/internet search, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint capabilities. Technical competence includes the ability to learn new software and systems.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk. The duties also involve active hearing/ listening, grasping, and reaching, as well as frequent lifting and carrying of products and supplies up to 50 lbs. Team lifting of tissue +300 lbs. Vision requirements include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and color code.


Mental Requirements

This position requires the ability to maintain an appropriate work pace; comprehend and lead strategic efforts; exercise logic and reasoning; organize, prioritize, and strategize; read; compose written communication; communicate verbally; problem solves; make decisions; count and compute; analyze and interpret data; multi-task/re-direct; experience numerous interruptions; ability to focus in an open-office environment and work alone successfully. Other Requirements

This position requires travel approximately 50% of the time. International travel may be required.

This position is based in Huntersville, NC.


Work Environment

The role involves working in an environment with potential exposure to elevated risk levels and loud noises, typical of austere settings. Additionally, the work environment entails potential exposure to biohazardous waste. Staff and training personnel must maintain proper PPE when handling cadavers and or specimens as well as biohazardous waste.
