Job Summary: Under the direction of the qualified supervising teacher and/or Building Administrator, is responsible for applying specialized skills supporting the elementary and secondary educational process. This position may include, but not be limited to, the following performance responsibilities, qualifications, knowledge, skills and abilities. Specific responsibilities for this position are as described on the attached job description.
Substitute in various Sign Language Interpreter positions throughout the district.
Pay Rates: Classified substitutes are compensated at the base pay rate for the position they are subbing in.

Special Duties/Responsibilities: On Call - Substitute for Sign Language Interpreter for the deaf and hard of hearing students
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Sign language and interpreter proficiency.
3. The Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a minimum score of 3.5 and the EIPA written test with a passing score; OR
a. The National Interpreter Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and the EIPA written test with a passing score.
4. Blood Borne Pathogen Training, provided at time of hire.
Schedule: Shifts will vary as these are on-call substitute positions.
Selection Timeline: This position will open and close periodically throughout the school year based on District needs.
