The Shuttle Bus Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all activities within the custodial/janitorial program and demonstrating and implementing safe work practices and procedures.
- Coordinate and monitor work activities and schedules of employees
- Assist in the hiring, on-boarding and training of new employees
- Compile written reports/ information
- Perform quality, service, and safety inspections; monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, supplies, and equipment
- Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees
- Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques
- Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained
- Ensures proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained
- Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work
- Makes rounds to check for crew coverage of designated work areas, assigns needed coverage, gives special cleaning instructions and/or assignments, and ascertains compliance with directives
- Conducts inspections and investigates tenant complaints of the building to check for cleanliness, and advises subordinates of found conditions and methods of correction
- Weekly meeting with ABM manager or as needed
- Act as the conduit of information between management and front-line staff
- Track equipment and supply inventory
- Inspects equipment for cleanliness and repair and personally makes minor repairs
- Report employee personnel and customer issues to ABM manager
- Provide corrective action recommendations on areas that need improvement
- Maintains personnel, time, and vacation/holiday records, prepares and evaluates time records and other related reports in order to ensure staffing needs and payroll
- Maintain detailed records of all staff
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing (emails and reports)
- Conduct monthly safety meetings
- Conduct weekly meetings with the leads (day and/or night)
- Prepare utility Schedule for the month and assign to the staff
Duties and Responsibilities:
All supervisors should be performing the following duties daily:
- Walk through of site before AM shift arrives
- Meetings with clients/ walks (If applies)
- Ordering of supplies – BUYSMART
- Inspections of work and report on ABM website (If applies). Need to do a daily SWOP and SITE inspections
- Check staff punches daily to ensure all missing/exception punches are cleared
- Specific/ Special Task
- Set up crew to begin shift and discuss any information with employees if needed. This will be include handing out supplies if needed.
- Follow up with night lead (If applies)
- Must have the Class B (Passengers & Endorsement), Medical Certificate and DMV Printout
Operations:
- Shortage Coverage
- Buildings Walks
- Proactive Tickets
- Kitchen eating area cleanliness / M.K. and mini
- Supply Inventory
- Schedules – Is the Staff Following Work Schedules
- Assist in Training New Staff
- One on one Training and reporting
- Constant Communication with staff and Managers (ABM)
Reports:
- Daily Pass Down to Night Leads (if applies)
- Daily Reports to ABM manager
- RCA-Root Cause Analysis,
- Safety Work Observation – SWOP needs to be done daily
- Reporting to manager on all tasks performed on a daily basis
- Report any injuries to the Nurse Line and provide injury report
