General Information: We are seeking a dedicated Shredding Specialist responsible for handling the efficient operation of paper shredding machinery, as well as supporting various warehouse tasks. The ideal candidate will be a team player committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, segregate, and load wastepaper into paper shredder.
- Operate and maintain baling machinery.
- Stage or load paper bales for shipment as required.
- Perform shredding operations for off-site shredding program.
- Secure plant hardware and equipment by activating security systems.
- Maintain clean and safe work area following company standards.
- Clean truck shredder compartments and cabs nightly.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding security and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in manufacturing or warehouse preferred.
- Basic knowledge of forklift truck driving and maintenance is advantageous.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 57 pounds repeatedly.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull heavy equipment and objects (80 to 100 pounds).
- Ability to sit for up to eight (8) hours per day.
- Ability to walk up to eight (8) hours per day.
Additional Specifics:
- Safety shoes required.
- Shredding Specialist BGC/NAID certification required.
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM schedule.
