Position Overview:
  • As a Shop Millwright (2nd Shift), you will work on and rebuild rotating equipment within our Pump and Motor Technology group, specifically within the Honda East Liberty Paint Department.
  • This involves pipe fitting, manual machine work, material handling, measurements, vibration analysis, electrical work, laser alignment, installation, and system analysis.
  • This job requires travel to job sites where you may need to stay for extended periods.

Responsibilities:
  • Examines and tests rotating equipment; identifies reasons for malfunction and completes repairs and/or maintenance.
  • Inspects parts for any changes in dimensions utilizing rules, calipers, micrometers, or other appropriate tools and makes necessary adjustments to conform to job specifications.
  • Installs new equipment and systems repairs and maintains current equipment and systems as needed and completes preventative maintenance according to plan.
  • Reviews work in progress; checks and inspects as necessary for conformance to job and industry specifications, and documents/logs all activities.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Certification in mechanics, or equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • Ability to use precision equipment (dial indicators, mics, calipers), experience using Hoist and Cranes, and an understanding of vibration monitoring and lubrication routes.
  • Must be physically fit and able to stand and walk for at least 8 hours a day, lifting up to 70lbs.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and capability to use shop equipment (Drill Press, Pneumatic Hand Tools, Horizontal Bandsaw, cutting torch).
  • Ability to read and understand dimensional drawing exploded view drawings, and cut section drawings.
  • Additional preferred skills include experience with electrical components, knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Systems and Programs, and experience running an engine lathe or turret mill.
