Shop Floor Quality Inspector

The Shop Floor Quality Inspector will be responsible to ensure the highest of standards are upheld during the manufacturing of precision aerospace and high-tech machined parts. The optimal candidate has a passion for Quality Improvement and training others on standard practices to ensure a team can consistently produce quality parts. Expectations:

• Lead/Facilitate Shop Floor Quality improvement activities that include conducting floor audits and training machinists on how to inspect their in-process parts effectively and efficiently
• Assist Shop Floor employees escalate and document process related issues to ensure issues are permanently resolved
• Review NC history and error logs when quality issues arise and fast track resolutions
• Review IPI’s and provide feedback to engineers to add or reduce inspections
• Participate in MRB walkthrough to evaluate backend quality issues and help troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Perform advanced manual inspections with gauging tools and perform visual product Inspections
• Manage and control MBO process on the Shop Floor ensuring only conforming parts make it into QC lab for final MBO
• Read and interpret customer drawings that include GD&T and multi-level Bills of Materials
• Solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration
• Create/refine Manufacturing Work Instructions and Quality Inspection plans
• Provide training to employees on quality related topics
• Review machining and fixturing processes when quality issues arise
• Other duties as assigned
• Must be a US Citizen or have a US Permanent Resident Green Card

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science preferred with an emphasis in Engineering from an accredited four-year institution.
• 5-15 years of relevant Quality Assurance and Manufacturing experience in the Aerospace and/or Semiconductor Machining industry
• Experience developing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured products

Working Conditions/Physical Hazards: Work in an office environment as well as production environment with exposure to noise, liquid grinding coolant mist and vapor, dust and lubricants managed through an exhaust system.
