The Shop Fabricator is responsible for high quality production of fabricated products designed by internal or external engineering. Duties include fabricating various types of steel structures, interpreting blue prints, and performing quality control checks on finished products. This career requires the ability to work in a fast paced environment, and the ability to interpret blueprint drawings. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required, as well as five years of shop fabrication experience, Oxy/Acetlene and Plasma Arc experience.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for fabricating various types of steel structures, components, and equipment.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, drawings and specifications generated by EMR or customer needs.
- Performs quality control checks on finished products while adhering to company’s safety standards.
- Responsible for pre-job setup and post-job cleanup of workstation daily.
- Maintains all tools necessary to complete tasks and reports when damages occur.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Creative problem solving skills, and the ability to resolve issues and provide solutions.
- Ability to interpret blueprint drawings.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- High school diploma or GED-equivalent.
- SMAW and MIG testing required for certification.
- At least 5 years of shop fabrication experience required.
- Oxy/Acetylene, and Plasma Arc experience required.
Work is generally performed outdoors in all-weather elements such as hot, cold, rain, or snow and personal protective equipment is required. Working hours may vary and evening or weekend work may be required. You may be required to lift and carry weight up to fifty pounds. Travel requires the ability to drive and the use of a personal vehicle.
