Shop Assistant

While experience working with dogs(and the occasional cat) is preferred I am willing to train.

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Shop Assistant. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and well-being of our furry friends. If you have a passion for animals and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, I would love to hear from you.

Duties:

- Bathe and groom pets according to specific instructions and breed standards-

Assist with nail trims and ear cleaning

- Monitor pets for any signs of distress or discomfort during the bathing process

- Provide basic grooming services such as teeth brushing and anal gland expression

- Maintain a clean and organized work area

- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when handling animals

Requirements(preferred):

- Previous experience in pet grooming or related field is preferred

- Knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming needs

- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain pets when necessary

- Excellent attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and grooming

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy

- Good communication skills to interact with pet owners

We also offer boarding and daycare services. Additional responsibilities are cleaning, walking and feeding as needed. Other shop responsibilities include laundry, general and deep cleaning, maintaining cleanliness of yards. You must be over 18 and have reliable transportation, we are a smoke free facility. Our day generally starts at 8:00am and we work until we are done, hours do vary but we are coming into busy season. There may be an occasional Saturday morning shift but generally speaking you will have weekends and holidays off

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $8.00 - $9.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Weekends as needed
