Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Supervisor
Scope:
This document serves as overview of roles and responsibilities for the position of Shipping/Receiving Supervisor. It is not an exhaustive list of tasks and may be subject to change due to the needs of the business.
Job Summary:
To play a key supervisory role in day-to-day functional operations of the Shipping and Receiving Department.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and supervise all shipping and receiving activities within the Shipping and Receiving Department.
- Supervise, direct and support any shipping, receiving, or staging staff to maintain a timely and effective process flow with a focus on daily responsibilities in all shipping and receiving documentation and the staging and shipment of orders.
- Ensure accuracy and superior quality of the shipment of customers’ orders, sample requests, and other misc. shipments with all related documentation attached.
- Produce all shipping documentation for outbound shipments in accordance with company policy and DOT regulations, to include Bills of Lading, Certificates of Analysis, and Safety Data Sheets.
- Effectively maintain shipping and receiving records in accordance to company policy to include easy access to current logs, bills of lading, USMCA agreements, packing list, etc.
- In coordination with the Production Supervisor, strictly adhere to the production and shipping schedule of customers’ orders to ensure timely and quality shipments per commitments made to the clients via the sales order.
- Provide leadership and support for consistent superior performance within all logistical activities while increasing efficiency and minimizing losses at all times.
- Establish and manage relationships with appropriate sources of transportation and logistical services with a focus on business partnership, superior quality of services, and price competitiveness.
- Assist other staff members, customers, or vendors with any shipping, receiving, or other pertinent logistical information when needed, to include freight rates, estimated times of arrival, estimated times of departure, transit times, etc.
- In coordination with the Operations Manager, ensure the timely receipt of materials and services according to requirement dates stated on Purchase Orders and correctly receive such materials and services in the company’s inventory software.
- Direct the safe physical receipt of materials and correct placement in physical inventory with a focus on accuracy and quality of materials received.
- Ensure department is clean and organized at all times and free of hazards and safety violations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
