Duties
- Oversee and manage the receiving department operations, ensuring efficient and accurate receipt of goods
- Supervise a team of receiving associates, providing guidance and support as needed
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely processing and distribution of received goods
- Implement and enforce proper receiving procedures and protocols to maintain inventory accuracy
- Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve discrepancies in receiving processes
- Collaborate with warehouse management system (WMS) to optimize receiving operations
- Monitor and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Ensure proper materials handling techniques are followed to prevent damage or loss of goods
- Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to coordinate inbound shipments
- Utilize AS400 or similar systems to track, monitor, and report on receiving activities
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise
- Proven experience as a warehouse supervisor or in a similar leadership role
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and their functionalities
- Knowledge of logistics principles and best practices in a distribution center environment
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements
- Proficient in materials handling techniques to ensure safe movement of goods
- Familiarity with AS400 or similar inventory management systems is a plus
This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage a team. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and process improvement. Strong mechanical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting equipment issues. Experience with AS400 or similar inventory management systems is preferred.
