Position Summary:

The Shipping/Receiving Associate I is responsible for maintaining the flow of raw materials, finished product and related containers to and from the Production cells. The Associate Is required to maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment while conducting normal job duties.  The job may require the ability to operate various types of equipment and work on multiple production lines.  Associate is required to cross train on the other production lines to back fill when needed.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Remove finished products from production areas and store them in designated areas.
  • Immediately notifies Supervisor of any Safety/Quality related issues.
  • Remove all empty pallets from each cell and store them in designated areas.
  • Organize all empty racks and totes as they come back from internal and external customers.
  • Assist in cleaning of warehouse area throughout the shift.
  • Inspect condition and quantity of received materials as specified in the Receiving Procedure.
  • Communicate potential deviations needed to Supervisor beforehand seeking for direction.
  • Performs picking, packaging, put away, line stocking and FIFO labeling in an efficient and accurate manner while following pertaining work instructions for each activity.
  • Always ensures accuracy and quality in each task performed.
  • Safely and carefully operates common warehouse equipment to move materials daily as needed. Reports any equipment failures or concerns to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Build pallets and break down returnable dunnage when applicable.
  • Palletize materials in specific order based upon customer needs/ work instructions.

  • Performs daily housekeeping & maintenance of warehouse, overall plant floors and material handling equipment as needed while following 5s practices.

  • Load company trucks with a pallet jack several times a day if needed.
  • Understand the importance of Safety and strives for a 100% compliance.
  • Actively participates on Physical Inventory activities.
  • Supplies components to the production lines based upon production schedules.
  • Adheres to and understand Safety policies and regulations along with all HFI company policies, processes and procedures.
  • Completes cycle counts and inventory checks in a timely and accurate manner when needed.
  • Performs miscellaneous activities as directed by Supervisor to support the efficient operation of the warehouse & HFI.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Prior work experience in a production environment or warehouse setting.

  • Excellent attendance.

  • Outstanding work performance, positive and professional behavior & ethic always.

  • Detail Oriented.

  • Ability to read, speak, write and understand English.

  • Computer and handheld devices knowledge are helpful.

  • High understanding of the importance of following processes and procedures.

  • Good communication and service skills, along with sense of emergency.

  • Must be self-motivated, respectful, positive, team oriented & maintain a high degree of integrity.

  • Available to work overtime if directed by Supervisor. 

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting productivity & quality expectations.

  • Familiar with computers, Forklift, Ladder, Pallet Jack, Scan Gun, and other common warehouse equipment.

Education/Training:

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations such as numerical counts, addition subtraction, multiplication, division.

Working Conditions:

  • Able to be on your feet for extended periods of time through the work shift.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able & willing to repetitively lift to 50lbs, and load and offload company trucks with a pallet jack several times a day if needed.
