Job Description
Pay: $22.50 - $23.50/hour during the temp-to-hire period. If hired by our client, excellent benefits are provided including 100% paid medical and dental insurance; 401k with company match; 15 days PTO; and paid holidays.
Work Schedule: Starting ASAP; Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (1/2 hour lunch break)
Company Overview: Our client, with offices based just south of Downtown Denver, is a leader in the production of proteins and other scientific substances used in the biomedical/biosciences industry, primarily for medical research. They manufacture, fulfill, package, and ship orders to domestic and international medical research facilities throughout the world daily. The Denver facility has 33,000 square feet and operates with 14 employees.
Temp-to-Hire Position Overview:Shipping/Facilities Maintenance position reports to the Vice President and works closely with all departments (customer service, production/laboratory) to ensure the timely, daily packaging and shipment of finished goods to customers. This position is also responsible for facilities management and maintenance and for contracting with facilities vendors as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Shipping:
- Will use Pick List to pull product from storage, package it up, prepare shipping label, and ensure shipment gets picked up.
- Approximately 20-25 shipments/day; 20% of shipments are international.
- Will primarily utilize FedEx Ship Manager and some DHL.
Receiving:
- 2-3 times/week, larger deliveries will come into the receiving dock (smaller, daily deliveries come into the front desk).
- Unload and verify delivery; unpack the items and place them in storage.
Facilities Maintenance:
- Responsible for managing the majority of contractors that work on the buildings and grounds. This includes work on the grounds, the HVAC, cooler repairs, sprinklers, refuse, and general building maintenance (33,000 square foot facility).
- Keep warehouse clean and tidy (not including the lab supplies area).
- Will do minor repairs/maintenance in-house, when possible.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in facility/vendor management; shipping experience a strong plus.
- Forklift experience highly desired.
- Experience with FedEx Ship Manager and DHL a plus.
- Computer proficient (will use Word, Excel, and QuickBooks ERP system)
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to perform in a fast-paced environment with daily deadlines.
- Team-focused attitude and willingness to be flexible and help where needed.
- Must be able to lift to 80 pounds.
- Basic handyman skills.
- A general interest in the world of science is preferred!
