Essential Functions:
- Assists with completing all tasks required in the shipping process.
- Assists with coordinating daily shipments with Production Supervisors.
- Assembles cardboard containers and affixes shipping labels.
- Prepares/packages orders for shipments according to the customer’s shipping instructions.
- Verifies/weighs/measures shipment accuracy against job traveler.
- Assists the Warehouse Shipping Administrator with generating Bills of Lading and Packing Slips when necessary.
- Accurately enters job specific information into Sturges integrated computer system.
- Contacts freight companies for shipment pick up.
- Loads trucks.
- Assist with cycle counts.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area.
Education & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Shipping experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Able to multitask and maintain focus on following documented shipping instructions.
- Must have attention to detail.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency
- Basic math skills
- Strong team player
- This position is deemed a safety sensitive position always requiring alertness.
- Able to read, write and fluently communicate in English.
2nd Shift Position
Mondays - Thursdays 2pm to 12am
Paid Meal Periods
$2 per hour shift differential plus Hourly Rate
