Shipping Supervisor

Job purpose

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor plays an important role on the Ensight Operations team. This role’s primary purpose is to provide direction to the shipping and receiving team, and to support the operations team.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide daily direction and assign work to shipping team completion.
• Ensure job carts are pulled and ready for operations by the target assembly date.
• Physically move parts to next operation on shop floor
• Close jobs in ERP system, verifying material issues before closing job into inventory.

• Prepares bills of lading and sources low-cost carrier. Verify accuracy of shipment prior to shipment. 
• Work closely with Operations Shop Lead, equipment leads, and plant manager on
• Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.
• Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received.
• Traces lost shipments and initiates proof of delivery documents.
• Participated in continuous improvement initiatives across the facility  to include assigning warehouse locations for parts, identifying parts that require engineering drawings and PNs, placing parts in assigned locations inside warehouse facility, cleaning and organizing the warehouse.
• Ensure daily cycle counting is completed with a cycle count accuracy of 95%.
• Maintain department responsibilities in ERP, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
• May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
• May be asked to perform other duties upon request.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED.

Specialized Knowledge and Experience

• Experience using an ERP system, such as Syteline.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.  
• At least 3-5 years of warehouse and inventory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.

• Microsoft Word – Proficient Level
• Microsoft Excel – Intermediate level
• Microsoft Outlook – Intermediate level

• Knowledge of and ability to follow basic safety practices.

• Must be able to interact professionally, appropriately, and courteously with customers, co-workers and other outside parties.
• Understanding of safety standards is required; including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
