Working at the Fort Liberty Ammunition Supply Point (ASP), the Shipping and Receiving Clerk (Ammo) works along with the Warehouse Specialist (Ammo)/ Warehouse Specialist-CDL per forming a variety of duties which included, verifying materials or merchandise against receiving documents; receives, stores, stacks, or palletizes, unpalletized materials, removes material from storage and prepares it for shipping.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Has the primary responsibility of receiving, shipping and storing ammunition.

  • Unloading commercial carriers and uploading commercials carries.

  • Verifies material and against receiving documents, noting, and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.

  • Mark Containers/Boxes IAW regulatory requirements.

  • Properly stores, stacks, or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.

  • Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.

  • Assists in taking inventories through physical count and records item count on inventory documents.

  • May operate hand or power trucks in the performance ammunition storage.

  • Assist with the delivery of rapid deployment ammunition during Global Response Force (GRF) exercises.

  • Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

    MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

  • Heavy Duty Truck

  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE)

  • Personel Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Two-Way Radio

  • Stincil Machine

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain areas.

  • Work will typically be in a outdoor environment.

  • There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 75 pounds.

  • Must be able to operate in a warehouse and outdoor type environment.

  • Must be able to walk on uneven ground and within work various sites 6-8 hours a day in performance of duties.

  • Will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as, Face Mask/Coverings, hand, eye, or head gear, steel or composit toe safety shoes/boots.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of related experience may be substituted for one year of education if a degree is required.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Must be able to pass both federal and state background check to have unaccompanied access to arms, ammunition, and explosives.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

  • Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Liberty Installation.

    EXPERINCE:

  • Three (3) years' or more experience in warehouse operations preferred.

  • Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact at all levels.

  • Forklift license and experience is required.

    SKILLS

  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)

  • Must be able to operate in a warehouse and outdoor type environment.

  • Must be able to walk on uneven ground and within work various sites 6-8 hours a day in performance of duties.
