ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Pull and stage all finished components for customer order on appropriate pallet.
  • Ships items by verifying identifying information and quantity and condition of items; loading and protecting items.
  • Insert specialty packing material to ensure product is protected during transportation.
  • Pack product on pallet using large specialty, corrugated containers.
  • Build specialty shipping containers when needed.
  • Determine method of shipment by examining items to be shipped, destination, route, rate, and time of shipment.
  • Handwrite or place shipping label on carton and prepare carton; follow packing slip process and apply to carton as necessary
  • Secure and stabilize cartons and pallets throughout the loading process.
  • Document items shipped by recording identifying information of items and transport information.
  • Shipment of finished goods from finished goods warehouse utilizing computerized shipping programs such as the UPS Manifest System, Fed Ex, etc.
  • Movement of finished goods utilizing material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoist.
  • Warehouse and dock maintenance to include cleaning, finished goods reorganization, and rack repositioning
  • Work as part of a team having responsibility for maintaining a high level of service throughout the factory.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Use troubleshooting skills/interpersonal skills such as conflict resolution, active participation/listening, interpretation, cooperation and flexibility to allow for a successful team environment.
  • Positively represent and support the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Active participant in our Lean Continuous Improvement initiatives in order to enhance production processes to achieve quality, productivity and profitability metrics.
  • Work overtime as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Previous shipping experience, Prefer 6 months experience in a medical or other regulated production company.
  • Knowledge of Windows based computer operating systems, Fed Ex and UPS shipping software.
  • Aability to operate equipment in a safe and controlled manner, i.e., shrink wrapper, tape machine, pallet jack and walkie-rider.
  • Requires legible handwriting
  • Must have good manual dexterity.
  • Able to lift and carry 70 lbs. of weight for extended periods of time
  • Ability to operate saws, drills, staplers, etc. and build shipping containers
  • Able to work substantial overtime as required, often on short notice
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to learn to operate equipment for processing shipment through UPS and others
