RESPONSIBILITIES: The Shipping Coordinator responsibilities include safety, quality of product produced, quantity of product produced, all reports and or data collection, and effective operation of the Shipping Department on a giving shift. All individuals assigned to the Shipping Coordinator are to work together in a safe, efficient and effective manner to insure the production of a quality product. Includes safety, quality of products prepared for shipment, quantity of products shipped, provides loading & unloading directions for trailers; prepares bills of laden, reports and or data collection, and ensures the effective operation of the Shipping Department. To achieve this level of operations all employees are required to comply with all applicable Plant and OSHA safety rules.

NORMAL DUTIES include the following:

· Schedule incoming delivery appointments and coordinate unloading

· Check delivery drivers in and notify customers of delivery status

· Dispatch carrier drivers and answer customer inquiries

· Adjust truck schedule throughout the shift

· Arrange for rolls and FG to be transferred to the warehouse as per scheduling request

· Scan units in and out of each bay and into proper locations

· Load and unload trucks; communicates with carriers on deliveries; keep counts of units; communicates with customer service

· Maintain a clean work area to include sweeping and pallet stacking.

· Place units in an orderly fashion in the warehouse according to order number and location accurately. Ensures trailers are available for shipping schedule.

· Ensures adequate amount of pallets are on hand.

· Communicates with shipping staff concerning loading schedule, product runs and needs.

· Ensures product is properly loaded.

· Communicates with carriers, ensures all orders are shipped on time.

· Create BOL and process appropriately

· Updates the loading log with shipments completed, partial or short orders, etc.

· Completes load tally sheet for all trailers loaded.

· Manually stretch wrap units, strapping, placing on pallets, and any customer request regarding the safe transport of units.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have demonstrated the ability to perform each normal duty satisfactory in this classification and all lower classifications in this line of progression. Also, the ability to learn to perform the normal duties in the next classification in this line of progression. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

License: Employee must have successfully completed the appropriate training programs for the operation of powered industrial trucks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret written documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, factory orders, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure (English and Metric systems), using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read an English and Metric system tape measure.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform normal job functions.

While performing the duties of this job, an individual is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. An individual frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. An individual must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the normal job functions.

While performing the duties of this job, an individual regularly works near moving mechanical parts. An individual is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and temperature variations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
