Shipping Assistant

A small, handmade textile business is seeking a Shipping Assistant! You will help in beautifully packaging handmade products, hand writing personal notes, and shipping them to the customers.

Position Overview:

The purpose of this role is to work independently on shipping out retail orders and all tasks associated with getting those orders out in time, which include pre-packing, ironing amongst other tasks listed in detail below. Your role will also include organizing and maintaining inventory. Being independent and thorough, while paying attention to detail is a must. This role is pivotal to the company and requires a serious professional with opportunity to grow as the company grows. Training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipment activities
• Tagging Products
• Very Neatly Packaging and Shipping of handmade products.
• Handwriting personal notes to customers for that personal touch
• Using shipping software to create labels and ship items.
• Performing quality check of products.
• Ironing fabrics.
• Counting, organizing, and updating inventory.
• Scheduling courier services.
• Pre-Pack
• Make Swatch Book
• Keep the work area & equipment clean and orderly
• Maintain supply of shipping materials

Qualifications:

• Must enjoy ironing, folding, packing, and organizing
• Ability to handle small amount of physical workload
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills
• Self driven and proactive nature
• Ability to be thorough
• Previous experience in shipping is a plus.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
