Shipping and Receiving Specialist (Paper Plant)

Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and accurate flow of paper products in and out of our facility. You will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments of raw materials and chemicals, as well as processing and shipping finished paper products to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments of raw materials and chemicals against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Unload and stage incoming materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Pack, label, and palletize finished paper products according to customer specifications and shipping regulations.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks and trailers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Operate various warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks (may require certification).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Assist with inventory control and management.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including drivers, vendors, and customers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a Shipping and Receiving or warehouse environment, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of basic warehouse and safety procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Valid forklift operator's certification preferred.
