Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Location: Kenova, WV
Status: Non-exempt
Summary
We’re looking for a customer-focused, organized team player to fill our open role of Shipping and Receiving Clerk! The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of all products, materials and supplies coming into and leaving the warehouse. They update multiple inventory management systems in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security and productivity, as well as compiling information from multiple sources and generating reports as needed. They will additionally assist the Customer Service Department in handling the processing of orders for two of the plant’s customers.
Note there will be a period of training at our main location at Huntington, WV.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies
- Collaborates and communicates with logistics technicians, customer account specialists, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments
- Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude
- Assist in coordinating efforts between support departments to prevent/resolve customer issues
- Communicate with customers concerning orders, receipts, shipments, products, returns and packaging
- Receive and enter orders into appropriate inventory management systems
- Provide appropriate documents and labels to production personnel
- Communicate with customers when necessary to advise of ship delays and/or obtain information necessary to process orders
- Manage samples per customer requirements
- Generate shipping documents, labels, BOL, customer order files, CoA or any other required documents
- Fill out forms, determine changes for services, update appropriate personnel
- Obtain customer feedback information
Safety, Sanitation, Security
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
- Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
Maintenance
- Assist in building, grounds and equipment maintenance as required
Educational Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience and Skills
- One to three years in similar position
- Experience in SAP or similar inventory management system desired
- Proficient at computer operation, keyboarding and internet operation
- Good grammar, voice and diction
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to interpret instructions
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts
- High level of organization and time management
- Must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time
Position Information
- Location is Kenova, WV
- Work week is normally Monday – Friday
- Some weekend work may be required
- Schedule may be adjusted as per business need (within the hours of 7am-11pm)
