Shipping and Receiving Associate

A growing west side automotive stamping company is seeking qualified individuals to perform all Shipping and Receiving responsibilities as well as maintain production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, and staging finished product. A valid certificate to operate a forklift is required.

· Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping in the area where your work is performed. Must maintain a safe and suitable environment.

· The employee must use all the appropriate safety equipment. The required safety equipment ranges from safety glasses to proper use of machine guarding. Report all unsafe working conditions to your supervisor immediately.

· Responsible for understanding and following all the required procedures, work instructions and other documentation as required by ISO 9001 and IATF-16949 per the Dove Die and Stamping Quality System Manual. Follow Instructions to efficiently and effectively to produce a high-quality part.

· Must understand importance of accurate record keeping.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Dependability to work as a team to include daily attendance, on-time reporting to workstation, timely return from break periods and restroom.

Responsibilities

• Must comprehend FIFO (first in, first out) inventory system.
• Accurately produce customer shipments using PLEX manufacturing software.
• Must comprehend the usage of measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
• Maintain and organize WIP and FG inventory.
• Safely operate forklifts for loading and unloading of shipments and receivals. This includes smaller and larger forklifts lifting from a few hundred pounds to ten-thousand pounds.
• Scanning and sorting of incoming and outgoing stock.
• Pull, pack, and load all products.
• Receive, stock and stage all incoming and outgoing products.
• Collaborate and communicate with logistics personnel.
• Receive all raw materials and supply products into PLEX in a timely manner.
• Accurately send and receive products to outside vendors.

Skills/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Highly organized to maintain a safe working environment.
• 3-4 years of forklift operation with certification is required.
• 3-4 years of Shipping and Receiving responsibility is preferred.
• Attention to detail is a must, along with having a strong sense of time organization and urgency.
• Computer literate with ability to multi-task between software programs; including PLEX, Outlook, UPS software, Excel, Word and customer portals to produce shipping documents.
• Ability to follow work instructions for process flow and proper packaging for each customer.
• Excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to communicate with other personnel are required.
• Self-disciplined and self-motivated.
• Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to frequently move about the facility to access product and packaging.
• Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare production documents.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other shipping equipment.
• Visual acuity (corrected) to read work instructions and identify quality product while packaging.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
