Job description

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Initiates regular communication with the Group Leader to discuss daily operational planning and define goals for the team.
  • Works with others in a team environment, takes direction, and is able to accept constructive feedback.
  • Acts as the first point of escalation and can resolve issues and/or conflict within the department.
  • Adopts a comprehensive perspective that considers data, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), analytics, customer insights, and different parts of the business when making plans and shaping the team's strategy.
  • Handles daily operations in area, requiring effective communication to make appropriate decisions in accordance with company polices, programs, and standards concerning safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Prepares and conducts daily team meetings as necessary for proper communication.
  • Takes on the responsibility of hands-on support within the given area.
  • Assists with internal audits as well as uses the insights gained for ongoing improvements.
  • Evaluates department equipment and initiates preventive maintenance and service.
  • Actively participates in Lean initiatives by identifying and conducting suggestions on areas within the department for improvements.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Leadership Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Serves as a role model by establishing professional standards, creates an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture, and motivates team members.
  • Maximizes staff resources with a focus on maximizing output to hours, including PTO allocation.
  • Monitors employee attendance, initiates salary adjustments
  • Determines the necessary staffing needs of the department, which includes requesting additional personnel, conducting interviews, and supporting on-boarding.
  • Conducts regular performance and annual evaluations, provides feedback, and implements corrective actions plans.
  • Fosters a positive and cohesive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
  • Provides guidance, support, direction, and leadership through positive interactions with all personnel during daily operations.
  • Takes on disciplinary responsibility for the assigned employees.
  • Handles disciplinary reporting to Group Leader
  • Communicates company philosophy, policies, and expectations clearly to all assigned employees.
  • Assists with the preparation of budgets with recommendations for investments of equipment or personal planning.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • 2-3 years in supervisory role
  • 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing industry or equivalent
  • Advanced Lean Management Training (i.e.: KATA Coaching, Value Stream Management) preferred.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to cost reduction, product quality, productivity, and customer service excellence.
  • Leads with positivity and uphold the company's culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Proficient knowledge of manufacturing and/or logistic processes
  • A proven ability to manage people, trades, and/or customer relationships
  • Ability to multi-task accurately, meet goals, and objectives
  • Ability to work independently or within a group environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written with proper grammar as well as mathematical skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
  • Ability to read and understand operational procedures and work instructions
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality in a fast-paced work environment
  • Results/deadline oriented with effective follow through
  • Must be able to prioritize, utilize critical thinking, and adjust to change.
  • Willingness to complete additional trainings relating to team management, job specific tasks, polices, and procedures.
  • Available to work overtime and shift work when requested.
  • Advanced knowledge of Digital Tools, with basic understanding of ERP systems
  • Possesses a valid Passport or have the ability to obtain and pay for a valid Passport.
