POSITION SUMMARY: The Slot Shift Manager will support the department Manager in providing leadership, direction, and management for the Slot services. Manage and perform responsibilities in accordance with all Plaza’s Company standards, policies, and procedures.

- Assist in overseeing Slot Operations to ensure proper procedures are being followed in accordance with company policies.
- Supervise, schedule, train, evaluate, coach and counsel Slot Department Personnel.
- Utilize professional human relationship skills to select, develop and motivate staff.
- Ensures staff are friendly and engaging to develop lasting relationships with our guests and build brand loyalty.
- Assists in ensuring that the assets on the floor are well maintained, appear fresh and inviting to the guest.
- Handle guest disputes and complaints, perform service recovery when applicable.
Other Specific Job Functions:
- Provide leadership to the Slot Operations Department consistent with the strategies and vision of the property.
- Provide education of the team on the departmental goals to ensure the buy-in and support of all team members, as they directly affect the success of the department.
- Assists in managing the daily operations, departmental performance, and staffing levels.
- Oversees Slot floor and Assistant Shift Managers performance to ensure proper game operation.
- Leverage advanced analytics to optimize the slot floor to our player base.
- Contribute to the development of and execute strategic plans to grow revenue streams, effectively recognize areas of opportunity for cost containment, and prepare justification for budget variations.
- Maintain vendor relationships.
- Organize and complete assigned projects and tasks.
- Develop and maintain department specific policies and procedures.
- Issue complimentary amenities based upon specific casino guidelines for levels of play.
- Continually look for and identify process improvement areas to reduce costs and increase revenues.
- Provide input into research, development, evaluation, and implementation of new services, products, and technology to ensure department’s competitive position in the gaming industry.
- Display excellent customer service skills and manage the level of guest services provided, while ensuring that it is consistent with the company and property’s core service standards.
- Ensure all policies, procedures, and gaming regulations are adhered to and consistently followed.
- Protect the confidentiality of all company files and documents under their immediate control.
- Delegate projects and tasks to subordinates consistent with departmental and company policies.
- Manage Human Resources responsibilities for assigned department to include hiring, training, coaching, creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
- Ability to function effectively with attention to detail while meeting deadlines and providing quality service to guests.
- Ability to work effectively with casino staff.
- Knowledge of slot and gaming equipment.
- Ability to work under extreme pressure and levels of stress.
- Verify all Slot jackpots to ensure all the necessary information and IRS tax paperwork is completed.
- Ensure department compliance with the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
- Perform all other job-related duties as requested.

Required:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED Certification.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in gaming, with a concentration in Slots.
- At least 2 years of previous high volume/high end guest service experience.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of player tracking and marketing systems.
- Proven ability to motivate and lead a large team.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Previous money handling experience.
- Team-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Able to lead and mentor a team.
- Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Must be familiar with the Title 31training, and able to train new employees.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Preferred:
- Minimum of two (2) years of Slot Management experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Player’s Club, Oasis, CMS, or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
