We are seeking associates who are upbeat, outgoing, and willing to learn! The ideal candidate will excel in customer service and enjoy providing excellent care to our clients and their companions! Our associates are expected to greet every client coming in the store and answer any questions pet parents may have.
Sales associates are also responsible for cleaning, caretaking, feeding and socializing with all of our pets. Pets we commonly carry are foster cats, boarding dogs and cats, reptiles, fish, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, and more!
*Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Greet and direct customers
- Animal care for including, but not limited to: Cats, dogs, reptiles, fish, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and crickets.
- Provide accurate information (e.g. product features, pricing and after-sales services)
- Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services
- Conduct price and feature comparisons to facilitate purchasing
- Cross-sell products
- Ensure racks are fully stocked
- Manage returns of merchandise
- Coordinate with the Retail Sales Representatives team to provide excellent customer service (especially during peak times)
- Inform customers about discounts and special offers
- Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
- Stay up-to-date with new products/services
Skills
- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Sales Associate or similar role
- Understanding of the retail sales process
- Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
- Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
- Basic math skills
- Track record of achieving sales quotas
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Able to stand, stoop or kneel for shifts at least 6 hours a day
- High school degree
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
