What you'll do and be:
The Shift Lead/Master Smoothie works in a fast-paced environment supporting Body Energy Club’s iconic smoothie bar at either of our Gold Coast, Lincoln Commons and Lincoln Park cafés located in vibrant Equinox gyms. The Shift Lead provides leadership for other Smoothie Masters as a senior go-to in the store and provides support for management when the store Manager is not present or requires additional assistance. The Shift Lead is expected to uphold Body Energy Club’s standards, policies, and procedures while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining an organized food-safe environment.

How do you contribute to Body Energy Club?
- Manage and support 2-3 Smoothie Masters on any given shift (number of staff are subject to change dependent on seasonal volume and store location)
- Provide outstanding customer service experience to all individuals visiting stores
- Troubleshoot customer concerns/complaints related to smoothies or orders when necessary and/or defer to management in more serious cases. Support manager with providing feedback and suggestions for resolution
- Monitor staff skills/professional behavior and provide feedback to management as necessary
- Ensure team members are effectively cleaning all equipment required to produce smoothies such as blenders, spoons, knives, machines, etc.
- Monitor smoothie/juice bar inventory shortages and notify an MOD or manager of any low stock or deficiencies, place orders
- Audit checklists daily while on shift to ensure they are completed correctly by staff members
- Train staff on updated operational policies and procedures as communicated
- Receive product deliveries and put away when necessary
- Deliver quality smoothies to customers by addressing client name, protein type, and customizations if necessary
- Assist with daily store operations such as managing till, safety and security while making smoothies
- Maintain a food safe and sanitary environment
- Flexible schedule availability required for all applicants during business operations for 7 days a week from 9:00am – 9:00pm - these hours may change depending on the season and store locationFull-time hours can work between 32-40 hours a week
- Maintain constant punctual attendance and contribute to positive team morale
- Must be able to come in under short notice (i.e. on-call situations)
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Willing to work evenings and weekends and lead by example to support team members

- Valid US Citizenship/Passport or US green card or work visa are required
- Background checks are required as a condition of employment (Equinox)
- We plan a soft opening before the end of July 2023 or before.
Education/Certifications:
- Valid Food Handler Certification is mandatory

Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in the food service/health supplement industry required
- 1+ year of experience in a retail management environment required
- OR retail experience at Body Energy Club with demonstration of job excellence and a strong understanding of company policies and procedures. The District Manager will evaluate fit for open opportunities
- Hospitality industry experience is an asset

- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Adapt and learn quickly to new products/recipes as business requires
- Possess the importance of maintaining a clean and sanitary environment
- Must be able to work under moderate supervision and troubleshoot team’s questions/concerns

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Work involves daily exposure to elements such as noise, dust, variety of food products
- Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks such as working blenders, knives, etc.
- Position requires the ability to be on your feet for a long-extended part of your day, moving equipment or product up to 30 lbs.; reaching and kneeling daily
- Requires the ability to see, hear and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette
- Employees may be required to work at other Body Energy Club locations from time to time

Salary: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour
