Position Summary

The Shift Lead A&P Mechanic is a deployed, key member of our maintenance team responsible for supervising and coordinating aircraft maintenance activities during their assigned shift. Maintenance activities will be conducted in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations Part 91, AR 95-20 regulations and MSA Aviation Core Procedure. The Shift Lead A&P Mechanic will also support the logistical requirements for maintaining and operating in a remote outside of the continental U.S. (OCONUS) environment.

Essential Functions Statement

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of A&P mechanics, ensuring they adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Safety: Prioritize safety in all operations, ensuring that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with aviation safety standards and Protocols.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all maintenance work is carried out to the highest quality standards, meeting both company and regulatory requirements.
  • Aircraft Maintenance: Perform on-site scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, inspections, and repairs on the Beechcraft King Air B350.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft systems and components to identify and rectify issues promptly.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive hardcopy and digital records of all maintenance and repair activities in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Adherence to Policy: Foreign Object Damage (FOD) program, Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) program and Policy, Tool Control Program (internal management and external enforcement), Maintenance Training Program and Corrosion Control Program.
  • Inventory Management: Manage and track aircraft maintenance inventory, ensuring that the necessary parts and materials are available when needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

During deployment, employees will be living under field conditions and must be able to work with little supervision in austere or arduous environments. Work environment varies based on contract.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

The daily working hours for this position may vary but are expected to be twelve (12) hours per day, seven (7) days a week at the assigned deployed work location. You will be expected to travel to the assigned deployed work location for no less than 60 days followed by rotation off-site for approximately 60 days.

Travel

Travel requirements are >50% annually - OCONUS deployment.

Required Education and Experience

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in turboprop aircraft maintenance, with a minimum of 2 years of experience working on King Air B350 aircraft.
  • Computer Skills: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite Programs.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and safety protocols.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Education: bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Experience:
    1. 2+ years in military aircraft maintenance; 3+ years of documented aircraft maintenance apprenticeship.
    2. Beech King Air B-300 preferred.
    3. Previous leadership or supervisory experience in an aviation maintenance setting.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • Must have a current US Passport

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little or no assistance.
  • Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

  • Employee must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Employee must be able to hold and maintain a Secret (or higher) Clearance Level.
