Your Impact
- Lead the development and management of the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering team for WSP USA Federal Programs & Logistics group.
- Manage all MEP/FP staff in project assignments and maintain targeted utilization.
- Lead in recruitment of additional MEP/FP staff.
- Performance of mechanical engineering design and production support from project inception through construction
- Provide technical leadership/mentorship to junior engineers/designers.
- Review other mechanical engineers' work for code compliance and constructability.
- Estimate design effort and assist in fee preparations. negotiations with Architectural-Engineering firms and General Contractors.
- Address contractor submittals and requests for information (RFI's).
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer working on facilities/building projects.
- Professional Engineering license (multi-state preferred).
- Eligibility to obtain a US Government issued security clearance.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense projects (USACE/NAVFAC).
- Ability to travel (domestic and international).
- Familiarity with both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods for projects.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Additional certifications such as LEED AP and PMP are preferred, but not required.
- Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance.
