Shelter Advocate

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shelter Advocate to join our team. As a Shelter Advocate, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals seeking shelter and safety. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.

```Duties```
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to individuals seeking shelter
- Conduct intake assessments and assist with the admission process
- Develop and implement individualized case management plans
- Assist clients with accessing community resources and services
- Facilitate group workshops on topics such as behavior management and life skills
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including data collection and file management
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a safe and supportive environment
- Supervise shelter activities and ensure compliance with program policies and procedures

```Qualifications```
- Certificate or degree in social work, psychology, or a related field preferred
- Experience in case management or working with vulnerable populations
- Knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in data collection and record keeping
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

• Adults

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Night shift
• Overnight shift
• Weekends as needed

Ability to Relocate:

• Oshkosh, WI 54901: Relocate before starting work (Required)
