Shelter Advocate

Responsibilities:
- Provide support and advocacy to individuals residing in the shelter
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized service plans
- Assist clients with accessing community resources and services
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
- Facilitate support groups and educational workshops
- Administer medication to clients as prescribed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a safe and supportive environment
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences
- Collect data and compile reports as required

Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or in a shelter setting is a plus
- Knowledge of case management principles and practices
- Familiarity with addiction counseling techniques and resources
- Ability to provide first aid and respond to emergencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills for data collection, filing, and record keeping

Please note that this position may require some evening, weekend, or holiday availability.

Pay: $21.50 per hour
