Duties
This position's primary purpose is to perform Aircraft Sheet Metal duties, train others in that trade or other trades if skilled, and perform varied tasks in other trades.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. At the WG-10 level, Typical work assignments include:
At the WG-08 level, will perform intermediate level aircraft sheet Metal Mechanic tasks by assisting in developing patterns for the installation of various aircraft metal structures. Duties may include; evaluating structural damage; examining aircraft hulls, and metal structures; and sing complicated measuring instruments and shop mathematics to figure irregular cures, angles, and pitch. As experience is gained, the employee will be expected to perform additional tasks with increasing proficiency and independence.

Duties

- Developing patterns and lays outs, and then cutting, forming, joining, assembling, and installing various aircraft metal structures, items and systems.
- Evaluating structural damage to sheets metal systems, structures or items in order to plan and layout repair and modifications projects, involving many different honeycomb materials, and alloys.
- Examining aircraft hulls and metal structures to assure proper repairs and maintenance.
- Setting up and realigning hulls, determining bend ratios, reams complex holes.
At the WG-08 level, will perform intermediate level aircraft sheet Metal Mechanic tasks by assisting in developing patterns for the installation of various aircraft metal structures. Duties may include; evaluating structural damage; examining aircraft hulls, and metal structures; and sing complicated measuring instruments and shop mathematics to figure irregular cures, angles, and pitch.
