Well established commercial roofing company seeking a Sheet Metal Roofing Superintendent. The superintendent will report directly to the Sheet Metal Operations Manager. The Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing a team of foremen and SHEET METAL technicians to deliver exception quality and customer service to our clients. The Superintendent will be working closely with the Project Managers to meet contractual requirements leading to profitable and successful projects.
Summary
Engage with customers to answer questions and provide explanations, discuss any outstanding issues with customers and other parties. Participate in regular review meetings with project manager. Provides leadership to foreman - fostering safety, teamwork and discipline resulting in efficient and professional roof system installation. Represents the company in a professional manner in all dealings with customers, personnel and the public.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Effectively manage all aspects of production
- Review plans and sites, delegate crews and do all pre-job planning including but not limited to creating site-specific safety plans and work plan efficiencies
- Ensure crews have information and instructions necessary to complete jobs
- Submit reports and paperwork and otherwise coordinate communication between office and job sites
- Supervise foremen to lead safe and efficient roof system installations
- Visit job sites to ensure project is progressing properly
- Assist in continually training field crews in safety, work skills and efficiency
- Maintain understanding of contract information for jobs
- Track labor hours and production against stated goals
- Schedule materials, equipment and deliveries
- Monitor material usage, minimize waste, anticipate shortages and order materials as needed
- Monitor quality of installations
- Demonstrate willingness to be a team player
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Must have excellent organization and leadership skills
- Must have expertise skills in commercial SHEET METAL roofing
- Written and verbal communication skills required
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong understand of building codes and regulations related to SHEET METAL work
- Ability to read and understand project drawings and specifications
- Ability to work on a team and interact with people
- Must be able to multi-task and have the ability to follow up on projects both internally and externally
- Must have a valid drivers license and ability to meet the company driver qualification policy
- Must be safety focused
Experience/Qualifications
- 10 to 15 years of Sheet Metal skills as a Sheet Metal Superintendent, Mechanic or similar role
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to climb a ladder
