Form of workJob Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Shop Foreman to work alongside and oversee all aspects of our Sheet Metal fabrication operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of skilled technicians and ensuring that all projects are completed on time, to the required quality standards, and within budget. The Sheet Metal Shop Foreman will be accountable for all shop activities, including safety compliance, inventory management, and employee training.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the Sheet Metal Shop, including scheduling and monitoring workflow to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Supervise and mentor shop employees, providing training and support to ensure that they have the necessary skills to perform their jobs effectively.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure that products meet customer specifications and company standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and order materials as needed to ensure that work can be completed on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, identifying potential safety hazards and taking appropriate corrective action.
- Coordinate with the shop manager to ensure that all project requirements are met, and that work is delivered on time.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in Sheet Metal fabrication/welding, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of Sheet Metal fabrication techniques and equipment, including press brakes, shears, and welding equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
