- Manage daily operations of the Sheet Metal Shop, including scheduling and monitoring workflow to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Supervise and mentor shop employees, providing training and support to ensure that they have the necessary skills to perform their jobs effectively.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure that products meet customer specifications and company standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and order materials as needed to ensure that work can be completed on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, identifying potential safety hazards and taking appropriate corrective action.
- Coordinate with the shop manager to ensure that all project requirements are met, and that work is delivered on time.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in Sheet Metal fabrication/welding, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of Sheet Metal fabrication techniques and equipment, including press brakes, shears, and welding equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
