We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team. As a Sheet Metal Mechanic, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing Sheet Metal products and equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Measuring and Marking: Sheet Metal Mechanics measure and mark sheets of metal accurately based on project specifications.
- Cutting and Bending: They skillfully cut, bend, and shape metal sheets using tools such as shears and press brakes.
- Joining Metal Sheets: Mechanics permanently join sheets of metal together using welding equipment, rivets, or other fastening methods.
- Fabrication: They fabricate full products, custom parts, replacement pieces, and ductwork based on interpretation of technical drawings.
- Installation and Maintenance: Mechanics install and maintain Sheet Metal systems, including ducts, roofs, and gutters.
- Quality Inspection: They inspect their work for accuracy, ensuring that products meet quality standards.
- Equipment Troubleshooting: Mechanics troubleshoot equipment malfunctions related to Sheet Metal work.
- Client Interaction: They advise clients, engineers, and other tradespeople on Sheet Metal work details.
Qualifications:
- Formal Training: To become a qualified Sheet Metal worker, formal training through a technical program or apprenticeship is required.
- On-the-Job Training: Mechanics gain practical experience through on-the-job training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
