Kable Staffing is hiring a Shear Operator in Batavia, OH. This position is a full-time, temp to hire opportunity.
SUMMARY: The Shear Operator plays a vital role in our metal fabrication process, primarily responsible for operating and maintaining shearing equipment to cut and shape metal materials with precision. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of metalworking, and a commitment to safety and quality.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and operate shearing machines to cut metal materials according to project specifications.
- Select and prepare metal sheets for shearing, ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on shearing equipment to ensure its proper functioning.
- Inspect sheared pieces for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Safely move and handle metal materials within the workshop.
- Maintain records of job orders, material usage, and equipment maintenance.
- Work closely with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain a smooth workflow.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shear Operator or in a related role.
- Knowledge of shearing machines and metal fabrication processes.
- Understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a metalworking environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to interpret project specifications and drawings.
- Physical stamina and strength for manual material handling.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
