Job Description
SUMMARY
The Shareholder Services Apprentice will assist the Director of Shareholder Services with cultural and other classes, interns, scholarships, and community projects that support the well-being of Ouzinkie Native Corporation shareholders and descendants. Assists in promoting educational opportunities and career enhancement, and cultural awareness to all stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May participate in the roundtable, forum, and regional meetings.
  • Work with the Shareholder Services Director to develop relationships with regional representatives that expand ONC's vision statement and break down barriers to doing business and promoting change.
  • Assists with the scholarship program.
  • Assists with the intern program.
  • Learns about and assists in the functions of the Shareholder Records Department.
  • Participates in AFN and Elders and Youth as an advocate for ONC.
  • Ability to learn and teach the Sugpiaq/Alutiiq language in alignment with the ONC Mission.
  • Ability to learn and teach Sugpiaq/Alutiiq Dance language in alignment with the ONC Mission.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a Ouzinkie Shareholder or descendant.
  • 1-3 years of progressive program coordination experience or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively and cooperatively with executive management staff, affiliated-company employees, and outside business associates; exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others.
  • Excellent organizational, follow-up, and detail-oriented skills
  • Working knowledge of ANCSA related to the subject areas typically raised by shareholders.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to develop, organize, and execute small and large events.
  • Work well under pressure and independently prioritize workload while working on multiple projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including thorough knowledge of proper grammar, advanced vocabulary, spelling, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Adobe software.

WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting and in some off-site locations during project transitioning with a wide variety of people with different functions, personalities, and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and, talking, hearing, and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; occasional walking or standing, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
