Onsite role - 40hrs/week. Typical hours are 6am-4pm (occasional OT as needed)
Metatarsals are required - rest of PPE will be provided
As a Assembly Manufacturing Engineer, you will support manufacturing of Cane, Cotton and/or Construction products by establishing routings, layouts, tools, costs, quality plans, methods documentation, and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs. You will operate in a team environment either within the enterprise order fulfillment process or enterprise product delivery process; projects are of moderate scope and responsibility or may be a significant portion of a major project or process.
Additionally, you will:
· Work closely with Operations, Quality, and Order Fulfillment personnel to support production processes, limited production builds for new product programs and ramping up to full production and ensuring necessary production rates, process capability, and productivity requirements are met
· Design and implement manufacturing solutions using e-tools such as Creo, VisMockup, WPlanner etc.
· Lead small teams to investigate problems and implement solutions to improve safety, quality, delivery, efficiency
· Lead analysis, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology and develop and implement plans to support lean manufacturing through John Deere's Quality and Production System
· Interpret GD&T from product design and apply to tooling and fixture design
· Monitor ongoing projects and maintain communication with business partners and stakeholders regarding project status
What Skills You Need
· Experience with manufacturing processes that include assembly, , and manual/robotic weld processes
· Experience with engineering tools such as SAP, CREO, and root cause analysis
· Experience developing safe assembly or weld methods to eliminate waste and determining labor standards
· Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
· Experience planning, organizing, and implementing engineering projects and assignments
· Experience with manufacturing, quality, tooling, tool design, line design, material flow, material presentation, and manpower planning
What Makes You Stand Out
· Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering/technology highly preferred
· 2 or more years in a Manufacturing Engineering role within a manufacturing environment
· Strong knowledge of computer aided design and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
· Knowledge of mistake proofing and design for manufacturability
· Experience with Lincoln and Miller MIG welding equipment
· Experience with process design, line design, material presentation, and manpower planning
· Ability to lead small improvement teams and communicate upwards to key stakeholders
