Job Description
This position is for a full time (40 hours/week) Sewing Machine Operator in our Fire Truck Industry Department. We are looking for someone that is a team player with excellent attention to detail to sew parts together for the fire truck industry nationwide. Previous Sewing Machine experience a plus, but we are willing to train enthusiastic candidates.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate industrial Sewing Machines and prepare machine by changing needles and thread, oiling and changing bobbin, and securing attachments.
- Properly operate a heat cutter to cut various types of material.
- Sewing products together with a wide range of materials.
- Meet delivery deadlines by working with the team to ensure products are made correctly, with good quality and meet production goals set by supervisor.
- Ability to follow prints and written instructions with excellent attention to detail.
- Understand quality requirements and how this position affects quality: on time delivery, time and material tracking, and meeting customer requirements.
- Monitor material inventory and place order requests as needed to ensure an efficient production work flow.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area with safety being a priority.
Requirements:
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fraction to decimal conversion with provided conversion chart.
- Read a tape measure in feet and inches.
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time during each shift.
- Good communication and willing to ask questions and take notes.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize orders.
- Willing to learn and train in various areas of service that is provided to our customers, such as repairs, boats, awnings, and custom projects.
- Ability to lift or maneuver objects up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Compensation: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour based on experience

Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- Hours of operation are between 6:45am – 5:15pm
- Occasional overtime requested, but not mandatory
Education and Experience:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Sewing experience preferred, but not mandatory

Salary: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
