Sewer, Seamstress

Kalogon, an early stage startup based in Melbourne, seeks a full-time sewing expert to help us deliver our award-winning product, Orbiter.

Kalogon’s first product, Orbiter, is a smart cushion that relieves pain and fatigue experienced by individuals who are seated for extended periods of time. Our product leverages our patent-pending core technologies: an air management system, a dynamic motion AI, and custom molding. These technologies help to improve blood flow while seated, ultimately promoting good tissue health, lessening fatigue, and increasing comfort.

We produce our products in the offices in Melbourne, FL. Each cushion has a fabric cover and must be sewn to order. We seek a seamstress to work 40 hours a week to help with cover production.

Required skills:
Expert seamstress skills
Able to meet production deadlines, while meeting quality standards
Eye for detail
Skilled at operating industrial sewing machines and other tools such as sergers including set up
Experience sewing four way stretch fabric and installing zippers into the same
Knowledge of crafting patterns that can take a similar design up or down in size
Ability to develop patterns from scratch in conjunction with production and custom order requirements
Willingness and eagerness to collaborate with production team members to deliver products on time
Be able to turn around orders within 2 business days, with some flexibility for rush orders that will be needed within 1 business days
Manage all administrative functions for necessary controls so that individual orders are well managed
Excellent communication skills for working with our team
Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation

Compensation and Work Details:
This job will be 40 hours a week.
This role offers variable compensation. There is a flat hourly rate at the minimum wage. For each cover completed, there is an additional $25 - 50 bonus depending on speed, quality, and other factors.
You must be able to work in the Kalogon offices. While it is preferable that you are available to work during business hours (8am - 6pm), there may be some opportunities to work during other times.
Payment to be made as a W-2 full-time employee.
