Set-Up Operator/Spot |Hammond, IN
Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
Starting Pay: $16-$19 DOE
Shift(s): 2nd (2:30p-11:30p) OT when needed
Requirements & Skills:
·1 year(s) of previous spot set-up skill, knowledge, and experience preferred
·Must have proven abilities in communication, organization, setting priorities
·Experience with process improvement methodologies to improve efficiency andeffectiveness.
·Ideal candidate is hands-on, has a strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys problem-solving, and is capable of successfully managing a team of diverse employees.
·Familiarity with PCs, CNC machines, in-house software, and Cincinnati Milacron press brake equipment.
·Prior mechanical training or background. Strong mechanical aptitude
·Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
Primary Duties Include:
•Set up machines with proper dies, or fixtures, and machine setting to ensure integrity of parts.
•Ensures and verifies quality of fabricated parts by using samples, drawings proper measuring tools.
•Plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal.
•Understands metal bending techniques and industry best-practices.
•Provides input to enhance existing production methods.
•Works independently with minimum supervision and/or willing to work in a team environment, which may include working on projects and/or equipment that is outside of original job scope.
•Recommends hiring and releasing of production personnel.
•Conducts training, coaching, and development of team members.
•Assists with other departments when necessary.
•Maintains awareness of, and continually practices, safe work habits.
•Maintains an organized and clean work area.
•Works overtime when needed. (Nine or more hours per day, with occasional weekends.)
•Able to work in a variety of temperature conditions.
•Maintains accurate records, both paper and electronic, related to incoming and outgoing materials, job orders, shipping tags, etc.
•Continually updates knowledge of fabricating equipment and forming industry standards.
•Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
•Attend company-sponsored training as required (i.e. external, in-house, web/computer based, etc.)
