Job description

The ServiceNow Developer- IT Service Management (ITSM) will be a critical part of the IT team, reporting to the Vice President, IT Engineering and Architecture. In this role, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform to streamline and enhance IT service delivery. Your focus will be on configuring and customizing ITSM modules to meet business requirements and improve overall IT processes.
We offer a flexible work environment. This means working up to 2 days a week remotely and the rest of the time in the office in Waltham, MA.

"Gauges" of Responsibility
  • ServiceNow Configuration and Customization: Design and implement ITSM solutions on the ServiceNow platform, including Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, and Service Catalog. Configure and customize ServiceNow modules to align with ITIL best practices and organizational requirements.
  • Workflow Automation: Develop and optimize workflow processes to automate and improve IT service delivery. Implement automation solutions for routine tasks to enhance efficiency.
  • Integration and Interoperability: Integrate ServiceNow with other IT systems and applications to ensure seamless data flow. Collaborate with integration teams to design and implement interfaces with third-party tools.
  • Scripting and Development: Write and maintain scripts using JavaScript within the ServiceNow platform. Develop and customize business rules, UI policies, client scripts, and server-side scripts.
  • Collaboration and Requirements Gathering: Work closely with IT stakeholders, business analysts, and end-users to gather and understand requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that ITSM solutions align with organizational goals.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct unit testing and support system integration testing for developed solutions. Ensure the reliability and performance of ServiceNow configurations and customizations.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for ITSM configurations, customizations, and development activities. Provide training materials and support documentation for end-users.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about ServiceNow platform updates and new features related to ITSM. Identify opportunities for process improvement and proactively propose enhancements.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer with a focus on ITSM.
  • ServiceNow Developer or Implementation Specialist certification is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and ITSM best practices.
  • Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and scripting within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Experience with ServiceNow REST and SOAP APIs.

Education Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
